I’ll be honest with you. [I’m] very skeptical about these places, and one of the first things I did was go onto the internet, and I could find virtually nothing of a negative nature. It was actually standing and I really tried and looked – there was no dirt. It was quite surprising in this day and age. So, there are many people out there who provide those services. These people had a good reputation. They ticked a lot of the boxes. I’d recommend them.
You may have noticed I’m getting a little bit grown, a little bit wrinkled and one of the worst things people tend to do is procrastinate. I said to my wife, “Enough is enough. I’m not procrastinating anymore, we’re going to make a decision. We’re moving here, come hell or high water”. That was one of the main decisions for doing it. I did my research, checked it out, I said, “Today we make a decision. Let’s get on with it”.
I was always suspicious…extremely suspicious. And I thought “Yep, I’m going to get ripped off”. But as I said earlier, I’ve got to get on with it. I was happy to do whatever it took to get the property underway. And I was very surprised that after the money had been paid, the follow-up of the service was very good, was very professional.
I was very cynical so I gave them an extremely hard time. And I apologize if I was rude or harsh with them, but I was determined not to be overtly ripped off or done in a stupid way. And so, that might be considered a negative experience for concern. But I think that just tested the character of the organization that they withstood my rough.
They’ve been very professional, obviously, and quite unique in what they provided. They gave us a handful of properties to look at. We were very specific in our criteria, because we’ve had a bit of experience. We’re not experts, but we had a bit of experience, and we expressed a desire to be on the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Oddly enough we ended up in the slightly western suburbs of Melbourne. There you go.
Most smart people will go out in the market and price buyers advocates anyway. And I found that the fees that charged were very similar. I don’t really care because the [inaudible] market was demanding that price…I don’t care. But it bears no importance to me. It’s what the market was costing.
I’m very confident they’ll follow through, and if not, keep their ongoing relationship because business begets business and so I can understand that. And they’re smart enough to know that if they do the right thing, the right thing will come their way. They’re clever that way. That comes out in their company culture.
